The Word God
I’ve debated back and forth for many years whether to use the word God in my writings because of how it is associated with religion, and for many people, in particular, with Christianity. It would be less contentious and maybe even more semantically accurate for me to use a secular word like Universe. But still, I keep going back to God as if behind the word is an immanent light like the crown of the sun during a solar eclipse. This is a word that needs to be healed. It is a word that carries the wounding of our human divinity, the trauma our human egos have created for us in the name of God. It is our responsibility to heal our relationship with God, the iconification of our sacredness as created by the narratives we've adopted about our spirituality. And so, I use the word with purpose.
